A partner in Berry & Co's Oamaru office since 1984, David has 30 years experience in general legal practice.
His work has a particular emphasis in family and relationship property law, asset planning and trusts, and residential, agribusiness and business law. David is a member of the New Zealand Law Society’s Family Law Section and is Oamaru's senior Court appointed Lawyer for Child.
David's expertise includes;
• Leading Berry & Co's conveyancing team of legal executives who handle all aspects of buying and selling homes
• Providing specialist advice into all aspects of agribusiness and commercial transactions
• Working with tourism operators and the viticulture sector in joint ventures, business structures, and property acquisition strategies
• Providing specialist knowledge in family and relationship property law including advice on partners entering into a relationship, as well as for those separating
• Domestic protection, and
• Working closely with clients (and their financial advisors) to establish personalised trust/asset protection structures |
A senior Court-appointed Lawyer for Child, David also provides specialist advice on parenting agreements and parenting orders.
David has long served the North Otago community. He was chairman at Waitaki Girls' High School for six years, and has worked with numerous local social/sporting/community organisations. He is currently a Ministerial appointment on the Otago Polytechnic Council.
Away from the office David and Georgina cattle farm 20 hectares. He enjoys healthy outdoor pursuits, particularly tramping and tennis, and loves travel, reading, music and art. |
